Lily Tembo, professionally known as Lily T, was a renowned Zambian musician, radio presenter, journalist, and charity worker. Born on November 20, 1981, in Kabwe, Zambia, she grew up in a musically inclined family. Her father played the African bongo, while her mother and sisters were active singers in their church. Lily attended Kabulonga Girls High School in Lusaka and later pursued journalism at Evelyn Hone College.
In 2004, Lily released her debut album, Lily T, which garnered national acclaim and earned her two awards. She followed up with her second album, Osalila, in 2006 and was working on a third album at the time of her untimely death. Beyond her music career, Lily was a newsreader for 5th FM Radio in Lusaka and was actively involved in charity work, particularly in raising malaria awareness in Zambia
